The Mission @ SSE Arena Wembley, London - November 16th, 2017

I've never been a big fan of the Sisters of Mercy so I never really checked out their offshoot band The Mission. Unfortunately their 45-minute set in the middle slot of the Alice Cooper London show wasn't at all convincing. The less said about them the better...

I don't dislike some of the songs but their performance was dull. The band seemed completely disengaged and that anaemic version of Neil Young's Like A Hurricane was painful. Also, what is the purpose of a drummer when most rhythms and percussions are on tape? The poor man was just sitting there looking bored the whole time. Every one in a while he was allowed to throw in one fill or two and that was the extent of his participation.

Maybe it was an off night for them? Maybe they were sick? In any case it was pretty underwhelming. They really didn't deserve the middle slot of this evening, in fact this type of lacklustre performance doesn't belong anywhere near a professional stage.
