The Tubes @ SSE Arena, Wembley, London - November 16th 2017

Th Tubes are a legendary band and their legend was built upon outrageous live shows more than upon their dozens of great songs. In that respect they are very much like tonight's headliner, who is almost never recognised by the mainstream for the most important part of his act: the music.

But that's the price you pay when you chose to don the costume and make-up. It's a shame, because songs like She's A Beauty and Talk To Ya Later are genuine classic tracks.

This mix of style and substance made the Tubes the perfect opener for Alice Cooper on this last UK date of this leg of the Paranormal tour. Unfortunately the band seemed a bit lost on such a big, almost empty stage and the insanity and the chaos of their presentation was a little drowned out. 

Still, it was great to finally be able to see Fee Waybill doing his Quay Lewd routine and hear them perform White Punks on Dope. This is one band I'd love to see do a headline set in a smaller venue.
